Introduction
In this article, we will discuss how to automatically generate a metric for a Moment without having to go through the steps mentioned in our "Using Screen Capture Moments with Performance Dashboards" guide.
To do this, you need to have access to the Screen Capture Configuration page and be a MaestroQA Admin.
Auto-Creating a Moment Metric
To start, go to the Screen Capture page, and then select the Configuration tab > Moments tab. When creating or editing a Moment, you will see a checkbox appear where you can automatically create an AIC for the Moment created.
After selecting the checkbox and clicking Add moment or Update moment.
Note: It may take 30 minutes to a hour for the metric to be generated.
What happens after the Moment is created?
Automatically generated Moments will have the following name format:
Auto SC: Time Spent in <Moment Name>
This name is used to find the metric on both the Performance Dashboard > Metric Presets page and the AI Classifiers page.
In addition, after you generate at least 1 Moment metric, we will also create an Auto SC Moments category in the Metric Presets page. All future Moment metrics will go into this category in the future.
How is a Moment Metric Configured?
Moment metrics by default are:
Calculating the sum of time spent on the Moment
Only associate Moments to a specific Agent
If you are curious about the details, you can find the AI Classifier configuration by clicking on the pencil icon to edit the metric and click on AI Classifier.
This will open a new tab where you can see how the AIC that was created to track the moment.
Switching from Sum to Average
By default, all Moment metrics will be calculate to look at the sum of the moments altogether. If you want to see the average time, you have two options:
Option 1: Adjusting the Attribute Definition in the AI Classifier
On the AI Classifier page, create a copy of Moment AI Classifier and then underneath Attribute Definition change Aggregation Type to "Average".
Don't forget afterwords to convert your AI Classifier into a Metric!
Option 2: Use a Meta Metric
With access to the sum, you can create your own Average metrics without relying on creating another AI Classifier. This will involve creating a Meta Metric, which can be done from Performance Dashboard Settings > Add Metric > Calculated Metrics.
Here is an example of setting up a Meta Metric to calculate time spent in a Moment on average per ticket.
FAQ
If I create a new Moment today, will this find historical cases?
No, Moments created today will only work on Screen Captures created from this point moving forward.
How do I remove a Moment metric?
If you believe you made a Moment configuration mistake, we recommend to first delete the Moment metric on the Performance Dashboard Settings > Metric Presets page.
Then, create a NEW Moment that is set up correctly.
Can I create a Moment to track idle time?
Creating a Screen Capture Idle Time metric is not tied to Moments. Instead, this involves creating an AI Classifier rule using our Process Metrics category. Learn more about how to create an Idle Time metric here.
